Weeding My Garden >:D

The quote I chose is from Hamlet's first soliloquy; the quote is,"how weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable Seem to me all the uses of this world! Fie on’t! O fie! ’tis an unweeded garden, that grows to seed; things rank and gross in nature possess it merely." In this quote Hamlet is comparing the world to an unweeded garden. He is referring to Claudius when he says that "things rank and gross in nature possess it  merely." Weeds could be thought as a corruptible person or people. Weeds in nature start off as only one or two weeds, but then they start to spread like wildfire until the other plants are being sucked dry of nutrients. This quote can still be applied to today. In my opinion our whole government is an "unweeded garden" even if the politicians do truly try to help the citizens it is also for their own benefit or gain. If the government truly wanted to end the war or get better health-care bills we would have by now. Our government is corruptible though because we 'need' the gas from the Middle East. If we really wanted electric cars that ran efficiently and for long periods of time we would have created them by now. Instead our government revolves around the idea of oil which pollutes the ocean, air, and soil. Capitalism and 'Democracy' has turned our government into the rankest garden. We preach about freedoms yet we invade other countries to 'protect Democracy.' Our invasions have caused my rebellions which has thrown the Middle East into turmoil. That ties into another quote said by hypocritical Polonius but that is a whole different story... Well this is the quote I chose and why I chose it.
